Obituary of Richard G. Banks
CAMDEN – Graveside service for Richard Garland Banks, 76, will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Mr. Banks, husband of the late Marlene V. Banks, passed away at home on Thursday, May 9, 2019. Born in Pacolet Mills, S.C, he was the son of the late Richard Jennings and Mary Pace Banks. He served in the United States Air Force and retired from Santee Cooper where he was a lineman. He was a simple man that wanted for nothing and had it all. Family was the most important thing in his life.
The family of Mr. Banks would like to thank our mom and dad, they showed us the real meaning of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and retired at the age of 52 to enjoy spending time with his wife and grandkids.
Surviving are his children, Richard Todd Banks (Brenda), Tammy Ham (Dennis), Trena Brockington (John) and Tina Stewart (Keith); brother, Craig Banks (Vicki); grandchildren, Danielle (David) Gray, David Ham, Amanda (Jason) Baker, Mary Frances Ramey, Marina Harrison, Tyler Banks, Savannah Stewart, Megan (Drake) Plexico, Chad Stewart, and John (Christina) Brockington IV; and great-grandchildren, Ethan Ham, Landon Harrison, Hailey Harrison, Walter Gray, Jennings Ham, Asher & Colson Gray, Max Plexico, Sarah Beth Plexico, Mia Brockington, and Marley Brockington. He was predeceased by a brother, Stephen Banks (Edith).
