CAMDEN – Funeral service for Brenda Watkins Truesdale, 67, will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. The Rev. Bruce Hancock and the Rev. Brian Ogburn will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church. Mrs. Truesdale died Monday, September 16, 2013. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Olin and Queen Gardner Watkins. She worked for the Kershaw County Auditor’s office for 44 years and was the Auditor for 20 years. She was a member and past president of SCATT and the Association of Assessors. She was a recipient of the Jake Watson Award with United Way. Mrs. Truesdale was a member of First Baptist Church and the Douglas Wyant Sunday School Class. She was an avid Clemson fan. Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Carl R. Truesdale; brothers, Phil Watkins (Myra) of Camden and Larry Watkins (Robin) of Camden; special nieces, Lesli Watkins Pate (Eric) and Lisa Watkins; lifelong friend, Joey Baker; and her faithful dog, Brandy.
