I was a friend and classmate of Dan’s at Cheshire Academy.He had been there the year before and was an “old” hand .He took me under his wing and made it easier for me in such a strange environment.He was Mister Everything at school. I saw him only once after graduation on his way from Kenyon to Florence. I had tried to locate him through the internet but was unsuccessful until now.He was an exceptional young man and I am sure that never changed.

I knew Dan and Anita at Florence State College in Florence Alabama. His older brother,Larry, was a good friend too. Then after graduation Dan and Anita showed up in The Panama Canal Zone where I was serving in the Army. We were good friends there too. They went to Atlanta and after that I lost track of them. Hello Anita.

My condolences to the Dollarhide family. I worked with Dan for many years at DLA and aside from the great work that he did as a Human Resources professional, he was a caring, intelligent but most of all a very funny man! Boy did we laugh!! Prayers and thoughts are with you.

Hired Dan in Cleveland because Nelson recommended its one of the best things I ever done. Dan was an exceptional employee and good friend. I marvel at his approach to life and his intellect. Always believed in hiring people smarted than yourself and Dan greatly exceeded my expectations. Always stayed in touch because a conversation with Dan just made you feel good. I will miss him.
