BETHUNE – Funeral services for William L. Parker, 72, will be held Monday at 4:00 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Barbara Segars will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery at P.O. Box 275 Bethune, S.C. 29009. Mr. Parker passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013. Born in Chesterfield County, he was a son of the late Clyde L. and Sarah Sowell Parker. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, and the Coffee Club. He enjoyed farming. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Ruby Parker; daughter, Robin Hayes (Mickey) of Kershaw; son, Tim Parker (Teri) of Baton Rouge, LA; sisters, Inez Black, Janet Griggs, Barbara Thompson; brothers, Clyde Parker (Margaret), Liston Parker (Geraldine); 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Ann Parker. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Parker; and a sister, Dorothy LaBoyne.
