Obituary of John "Buddy" Arledge

CAMDEN – Funeral service for John Leo “Buddy” Arledge, 65, will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with burial to follow in Malvern Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  The Rev. Danny Hedgepath will officiate.  The family will receive friends Sunday 4-6 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. 

    Buddy passed away at KershawHealth on Friday, February 1, 2019.  Born in Camden, he was the son of the late William Eugene Arledge Sr. and Eunice Bullard Arledge.  He retired from DuPont and attended Antioch Baptist Church.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  His greatest joy was his family especially his grandchildren.

    Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Shelia Ann Skipper Arledge; son, Trampes Lee Arledge (Kelly) of Camden; daughter, Chrystal Hinson (Eric) of Camden; sister, Doris “Tootie” Parker (James); brother, William “Sonny” Arledge, Jr. (Ruth); and grandchildren, Andrew Arledge, Wyatt Arledge, Millee Arledge, Kinlyn Hinson and Kearson Hinson.  He was predeceased by sister, Marie Kelly; and brother, James “Buzzy” Arledge.
