ELGIN – Funeral service for Robert Lee Riddle, 93, will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project. Mr. Riddle, husband of the late Evelyn B. Riddle, died Sunday, September 1, 2013. Born in Greenville, S.C., he was the son of the late Jamie Cox and Jesse Marie Riddle. He retired from the United Sates Army having served in Vietnam and the Korean Conflict. He received two Purple Hearts. He was a member of the American Legion and was a Mason. Surviving are his son, Robert W. “Bo” Riddle of Elgin; granddaughter, Christen Warren; and great-grandson, Hunter Warren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Deann Riddle.
