Obituary of William J. Sandbrink

LUGOFF – Funeral service for William Joseph “Bill” Sandbrink, 64, will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.  The Rev. Dr. Charles Everett will officiate.  The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

    Mr. Sandbrink passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019.  Born in Lancaster, Ohio, he was the son of the late Paul “Buck” Sandbrink and Patricia Sayre Gant.  Above all, Bill enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

    Mr. Sandbrink served in the United States Army and retired from Law Enforcement in Columbus, Ohio.  He was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church where he enjoyed playing the guitar in the praise band.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Heath, Ohio and enjoyed riding his motorcycle and HAM Radio.

    Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Evelyn Albright Sandbrink; children, Michael Sandbrink of Cadiz, Ky., Mark Sandbrink (Stacey) of Columbus, OH and Kelly Sandbrink Nastos (Gary) of Tempe, AZ; two step-daughters, Lora and Terra; brother, Ted Gant; sisters, Edi Johnson and Dalene Gant; 4 grandchildren, Brianna, Jerrod, Amanda and Brock; 5 great-grandchildren; 9 step-great-grandchildren; and his two special buddies, Tripp and Parker Burris.  He was predeceased by a brother, Paul Sandbrink.
