Obituary of Richard Jr. Samuel

COLUMBIA – Funeral services for Richard Jr. Samuel, 64, will be on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Green Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. Pastor Clarke McGriff will officiate.

    Mr. Samuel passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019.  Born on December 21, 1954 in Kershaw County, S.C., he was the son of the late Sanders Samuel and Daisy Lawson Blanding.

    Richard graduated from LEHS and retired from C. Ray Miles Construction. He was loving and caring person who enjoyed basketball and music. Richard was a happy person who would go out of his way to help people.

    He leaves to mourn and cherish his precious memories his wife, Elizabeth Samuel; daughter, Latrelle Gibson; siblings, Betty Murphy, Alvin Samuel and Robert Samuel (Cathy) all of Elgin, and Danny Samuel of Charlotte; brothers-in-law, Billy Clark (Sharon) and Eugene Clark; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend, Jimmy Outen (Nadine).

     He was preceded in eternal life by his siblings, Joe Lewis Lawson, Ernestine Samuel, David Samuel and Frankie Samuel.
