Obituary of Carla Raye Cassady

LUGOFF – A memorial service for Carla Raye Cassady, 57, will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at The Way, with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. Pastor Jason Floyd will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday at Powers Funeral Home from 6-8pm.

    Ms. Cassady passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018.  Born on July 23, 1961 in Omaha, NE, she was the daughter of the late James Cassady and Regina Armstrong Cassady. Carla was a loving mother and grandmother.

    Surviving are her children, Jessica Varnes (Matthew), Melissa Carrell (Michael) and Courtney Watts; grandchildren, Riley and Hunter Varnes, and Cadence and Colt Carrell; sister, Debra Coker (Ernest).

    The family would like to thank the staff of the CVICU and perfusionists at Palmetto Health Richland for their care and compassion over the last month.
