Obituary of Jimmy Heyward Young

BETHUNE – Funeral service for Jimmy Heyward Young, 76, will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with burial to follow in Bethune Baptist Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.  Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund.

    Mr. Young passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018.  Born in Hartsville, he was the son of the late Corbett Hobson and Alice Melton Young.  He served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam.  He retired from DuPont where he was an Electrician.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge #197 and Calvary Baptist Church.  He was a quiet, humble listener who adored his family and loved his Lord.

 Surviving are his wife, Linda Kennington Young; children, Patrick Young (Loretta); and Tammy Inman; grandchildren, Patrick John “P.J.” Young, Jimmy Inman, and Allie Niven (Thomas); great-granddaughter, Nami Niven; and brother, Pete Young (Bernice).
