Obituary of Hazel Eben

ELGIN – Funeral services for Hazel Eben, 96, will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. Elder Alexander Sims will officiate.

Hazel Eben, daughter of the late Frazier Green and Daisy Henderson was born October 11, 1922 in Brooklyn, New York. She attended the Kings County public schools. She also attended New York Community College. She enjoyed working with the youth as a foster grandparent.

As a result of her big, bold personality, she was loved by many. Her zest for life and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Kershaw Health in Camden, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Bostic; son, Dennis Garrison; sisters, Audrey, Rose, Millie, Shirley, Gretna and Vera.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, Diana Green of Brooklyn, NY, Siri Eben of Ypsilanti Township, MI, Cassi (Mark) Sims, of Elgin, SC; son-in-law, Lawrence Adams of Staten Island, NY; daughters-in-law, Chantini Sims and Madia Sims of Camden, SC; grandsons, Damon Reardon, Shawn Devlin, Mark (Wyletta) Sims, Jr., Chad Bowman; granddaughters, Monica (Courtney) Jordan, Charisse (Perry) Flowers, Nadja (Dorian) Frederick, Siri Heard, Beheejah Sims and Ronnie Roberts; twenty-five great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; sister, Elaine of PA; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
