LUGOFF –Funeral services for Thomas Earl Rasberry, 70, will be held Monday at 12:00 p.m. at El-Bethel Faith Community Church, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Joe Stines and The Rev. Dr. Charles Everett will officiate. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 11-12 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Down Syndrome Association of the Low Country in honor of his granddaughter Breanna. Mr. Rasberry passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013. Born in Carthage, Miss., he was a son of the late Claudie and Winnie Becham Rasberry. Mr. Rasberry was a member of Trinity Baptist church, and was also involved at El-Bethel Faith Community Church, and attended the Breakfast Club with both churches. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, NASCAR, and driving around his grandchildren on his golf cart. Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Barbara Shipley Rasberry; daughters, Rebecca Bachert (Brian) of Summerville, Susan Collett of Petersburg, VA., Summer Rasberry of Lugoff; grandchildren, Charles Carr, Melissa Bachert, Trevor Wood, Breanna Bachert, Barbara Taylor; great-grandchildren, Connor Bachert, Addisen Sills, Austin Sills, Caroline Carr; brother Dewitt Rasberry; Sister, Janie Brown; brother-in-law, Benny Shipley (Ethel); sister-in-law, Margaret Pike (Vernon); Aunt, Edna Cox; 3 nephews; and a niece. He was predeceased by a son, Joe Thomas Taylor.
