Obituary of Kertina Horton

Gwendolyn Kertina “Tina” Mobley Horton, 79 of Lugoff, SC entered her eternal home in heaven on November 16, 2018. Tina was known for her love of her family, her church and her dog Chloe. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Lugoff First Baptist Church, 106 Longtown Road, Lugoff, SC with Rev. Doug Huntsinger officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethune Baptist Church Cemetery, Highway 1, Bethune, SC. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the funeral service.

    Born in Bethune, SC she was the eldest child of Carl and Margaret Mobley. She retired from Fluor-Daniel where she was employed as a Human Resources Manager working plant outages and construction projects throughout the United States during her career. During her retirement, she became a very active member of Lugoff First Baptist where she served as a Mission Friends teacher, member of various Committees and member of the Dorcas-Faith Sunday School class. She enjoyed outings with her Ladies group, the Hummingbirds. She was also an avid sports fan who loved NASCAR, the Atlanta Braves and the Clemson Tigers. Although she had no children of her own, she was a beloved Aunt to her nephews and nieces and a second Grandmother to their children. All of whom she enjoyed spoiling as much as possible.

    She is survived by her sister, Elaine Jackson of Lugoff, SC, her brother, Sam Mobley (Anne) of Camden, SC and her brother, WC Mobley (Dena) of Lugoff, SC; Nephews-Yates Jackson, Len Mobley (Michele), Alan Mobley and Brandon Mobley (Crisna); Nieces- Breanna Karns (Ben), Bridgette Clare (Aaron), Brittany Mobley and Rose Jackson; Great nieces- Leigha Mobley, Brooke and Hannah-Kate Jackson; Great nephews- Tyler Gray, Travis Boan, Trenton Blankenship (Lynley), Finn Karns, Case and Ellis Clare; Great-great niece, Aubrey Gray. She was predeceased by her parents and nephew, Todd Mobley.
