Obituary of Selma Chardukian

CAMDEN – Funeral service for Selma Hontas Reynolds Chardukian, 91, will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at High Hill True Light Church in Lucknow with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Saturday 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff and afterward until 4:00pm at the Chardukian home @ 1412 Broad Street in Camden, SC.

     Mrs. Chardukian, wife of the late Arman Partemos Chardukian, passed away at Karesh Wing Longterm Care on Wednesday, November 14, 2018.  Born in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Dalton and Moyse Hontas Watkins Reynolds.  She was a member of High Hill True Light Church.  She was the former vice-president of the  Bank of Bethune and a top salesperson for Electrolux.  Selma’s first love was her family and friends.  She enjoyed exercising her competiveness in her game of golf and playing board games with her family.

    Surviving are her sons, Rodney Arman Chardukian of Little River, S.C., Jon Partemos Chardukian of Greenville, S.C., Arne G. (Sallie) Chardukian of Greenville, S.C., Joseph R. (Rosemary) Chardukian of Dallas, TX, and Brady Wilson Chardukian of San Francisco, CA.; daughter, Rose Chardukian Patteson of Camden; grandchildren, Lauren Summers (Bryson), Adam Chardukian, Carley Chardukian, Jessica Shoemake (Wesley), Kaili Patteson, Chris Chardukian and Ashly Chardukian; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Audrey Price, Faye Puryear, Ina Hoover and Ray Reynolds;  She was predeceased by siblings, Edith Rush, John Robert Reynolds, Dalton Reynolds, Levert Reynolds, Dekle Reynolds, litte Dekle Reynolds, Tyrie Reynolds, Hugh Reynolds, Stellas Williams, and Leslye Boykin.

   The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Karesh Wing for their loving and compassionate care given to Selma during her time there.
