I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Preacher Jimmy. He and the family will always be special to me. I gave my heart to Jesus during a revival preached by Preacher John and then Jimmy is the one who baptized me. Hulon is forever better for having had all of you in our lives.

Dear Frankie and Family,
I just heard of Jimmy’s passing yesterday. I am so sorry I missed the service. Jimmy was a true Man of God. He was Faithful in every part of his Life. He was very good to our family and we could always count on Jimmy being there when we needed him. I know Mama and Daddy and countless others are so happy to see him and thank him for what he did for them while here on this earth. I know you are, and you should be, so proud to call him Husband, Father, Brother and Friend.
Much love
Terri and Glenn Holland

My heart was broken when I heard the news of Preacher Jimmy. He was a true man of God and he preached the true word of the bible.
Frankie, I know you and the family will miss him dearly. I will too!. Preacher Jimmy and Frankie has always been there for me and my family through the bad trials in our lives. They never turned their backs on anyone. Never heard a negative word about anyone from them. Always positive. So many times I have seen Preacher Jimmy witnessing to others outside the church. He is a blessing and so is his family. I love you all very much. Prayers always for you all.

I grew up going to church with Jimmy from 1959 - 1975. He is a dear friend even though our adult years were in different churches. I will always love Rev. Jimmy, a brother in Christ and rest with the knowledge and belief that we will worship our Lord and Almighty God around His Throne. My prayers are with the family as they bid their loved one farewell for now. May the love and peace of our Lord rest upon you as only He can give. Mom has a Doctor's Appointment tomorrow at 11:00 so I will be unable to attend the service. May our Good Lord continue to bless each of you.

Rev. Jimmy Atkerson was my first preacher as a little girl at Providence Baptist Church in Sumter, SC.
I have fond memories of him and his family. It was a sad time for me when they moved away. I thought of them often over the years and often wondered if he was still preaching.
Although we know where he is and should rejoice, this still hurts my heart.
RIP Rev Jimmy Atkerson your work is done.

I am at a loss for words and my heart is broken for Frankie and Jimmy's girls and their families. Preacher Jimmy was a dedicated man to God's ministry and every one knew that. I grew up at Emmanuel Baptist Church since I was a child and had the pleasure of serving as a christian in my adult life with Preacher Jimmy.
There are so many memories of this man of God. He did so much for the people that looked up to him. I know I do not know where I would be if it had not been for Preacher Jimmy and his wife, Frankie. They together were always there for me and my family when there were trials hitting my family. My dad loved going to church to hear Preacher Jimmy speak the word of God when he could go to church.
Preacher Jimmy loved everyone. "He loved his family."
I know that Preacher Jimmy is with Jesus celebrating now as he always said one day that he will. Frankie, I know you and your family will miss him so much and I also know he will be your guardian angel looking over his family. I love you all and I will be praying for each one of you.

Mr Jimmy was like a father figure to me when he was pastor of Providence Baptist in Sumter. The memories I have of that time period are the happiest memories of my life! He was a wonderful man, husband, father, pastor and friend. He will be greatly missed by many people. I know he loves the Lord and served him daily! He helped in saving no only my soul but that if my dad Thomas Boykin. My prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends. Rest in Peace Pastor Jimmy. Gone but not forgotten!

Dear Mrs. Frankie and family,
I am so saddened to hear of Pastor Jimmy’s passing. I am glad to have gotten to see you both a couple of months ago. Pastor Jimmy was a sweet, kind and devoted man. His love for his God, 2pPRefamily, friends and church family endeared him to all who met him. He was always smiling and had that little twinkle in his eyes that put you at ease. May God bless you all during this difficult time and fill you with peace knowing you will meet him again in his Father’s house. Love you all!
