Obituary of Ray Wingard

PATRICK – A service to celebrate the life of Gordon Ray Wingard Jr., 66, will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.  A reception will follow the service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the charity of one’s choice.

    Mr. Wingard passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018.  Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Gordon Ray Wingard Sr. and Lattie Lee Haselden Wingard.  He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry from the University of Georgia and retired from the South Carolina Forestry Commission.

  Mr. Wingard loved spending time with his beloved pets, friends and family.  He also enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle.

    Surviving are his brother, Eddie Wingard (Kathy) of Blythewood; sister, Susan R. Wingard of Atlanta, Ga.; niece, Laura K. Parks (P.J.); and great nephew, Michael A. Parks.
