Obituary of Barry Alan Lankford

LUGOFF – A memorial service for Barry Alan Lankford, 75, will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.

    Mr. Lankford passed away at home on Wednesday, October 17, 2018.  Born in Gadsden, Ala., he was the son of the late Earl Duncan and Willie Sue McClesky Lankford.  He retired from the United States Army National Guard.  He was a history buff and enjoyed the outdoors.

    Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Janice Carol Willbanks Lankford; sons, Gregory Alan Lankford of York and Geoff Lankford (Gail) of Lugoff; daughter, Shannon Brazell (Carl) of Elgin; sister, Sally Brown (Greg) of Douglasville, Ga.; and 8 grandchildren.
