ELGIN - Funeral Service for Guadalupe J. Rivas, 63, will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Hardshell Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Rivas died Sunday, January 6, 2008. Born in Mexico, he was a son of the late Manuel and Trinada Rivas. Surviving are his children, James L. Rivas, Vincent J. Rivas, Daniel R. Rivas, Teresa A. Howard, David M. Rivas, and Rachel Byrd; two brothers; four sisters; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
