BETHUNE – Funeral service for M.D. Leslie “Toad” Horton, 92, will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Timrod Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and also following the burial in the fellowship building. Memorials may be made to Timrod Baptist Church, 4227 Timrod Road, Bethune, S.C. 29009. Mr. Horton died Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Born in Bethune, S.C., he was the son of the late Mack H. and Lina M. “Shirley” Horton. He retired from the Kendal Co. where he was a supervisor. He was a member of Timrod Baptist Church and Woodman of the World. Mr. Horton enjoyed farming, fishing and horseshoe pitching. Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. The family extends a special thanks to the caretakers, Hospice Care of Tri-County, and family and friends.
