CASSATT, S.C. – Services for Joan Ellen Murphy, 62, will be held in the Outer Banks at a later date. Mrs. Murphy died Sunday, August 5, 2012. Born in Portsmouth, Va., she was the daughter of the late Louis Congleton and Frances Lassiter. Surviving are her daughters, Dorine Smith of Ahoskie, N.C., Marie Byrd of Cassatt, and Joyce Tineo of Portsmouth, Va.; brothers, George and Charles Grunenburg; 6 grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joyce Congleton; and an adopted sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Bob Suttles of Cassatt. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Congleton.
