CAMDEN – Funeral service for Lorene Bernice Branham Thomas, 90, will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Wateree Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Bobby James, Jr. and the Rev. David Weaver will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Wateree Baptist Church2024 Haile Street, Camden, S.C. 29020. Mrs. Thomas, wife of the late William Henry Thomas, died Saturday, July 28, 2012. Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Margaret Price Branham. She was former owner and operator of Thomas Dry Cleaners. She was a member of Wateree Baptist Church where she was a member of the Esther Sunday School Class and the Busy Bee’s. After her retirement she enjoyed volunteering at Lugoff-Elgin High School and working with her son at City Paint and Body. Surviving are her sons, Larry Thomas (Harriett) of Camden and Keith Thomas (Belinda) of Camden; daughter-in-law, Margaret Thomas; brother-in-law, Sim Smith; sister-in-law, Virginia Branham; grandchildren, William Thomas, Shannon Thomas, Chris Thomas and Stacey T. Summers; step-grandchildren, Benny Rabon Jr. and Byron Hayes; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild. She was predeceased by son, Billy Thomas; brothers, Harvey Branham, Leamon Branham, and Lawrence Edward Branham; and a sister, Carolyn Branham Smith.
