CASSATT – Funeral service for John A. Bennett, 81, will be held Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at High Hill Baptist Church, Elgin with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. David Stratford will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 5-6 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Mr. Bennett died Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Born in Blaney, he was a son of the late Willie Bennett Sr. and Lizzie Johnson Bennett. Surviving are his children, Randy Flemming, Sylvia Elaine Bennett, Bruce Simon, Willie Gripper, Dennis Richardson, Patricia Wilson, Johnnie Mae Campbell, John Bennett Jr., Rodney Morast, and Latisha Morast; brother, Eunice Samuel; and sister, Ether White and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Willie Bennett Jr., Benjamin Bennett; and sisters, Margaret Clark, Ruby Walker.
