LUGOFF – Funeral service for Johnny Addison “Jay” Baker, III, 36, will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. Powers Funeral Home. Jay died Monday, July 02, 2012. Born in Camden, he was the son of Johnny Addison Baker Jr. and Carol Branham Catoe. He was a heavy equipment operator, concrete finisher at State Utility Contractors. He also studied at Central Carolina Technical College. He enjoyed fishing and kayaking. Surviving are his wife, Brittany Gray Baker; father, Johnny A. Baker Jr. of Lugoff; daughter, Stella Addison Baker of Lugoff; step-son, Landon Jay Stewart; mother and step-father, Carol B. and Sonny Catoe of Lugoff; brothers, Bubba Baker (Joni) of Lugoff, and David L. Catoe of Elgin; paternal grandmothers, Idalene Baker of Lugoff; maternal grandmother, Joann R. O’Brien of Lugoff; nephews, Brent H. Baker and Colden K. Baker; and a special aunt, Nancy Gregory of Lugoff. He was predeceased by paternal grandfather, Johnnie A. Baker Sr.; and maternal grandfather, Carl A. Branham Sr.
