CAMDEN – Funeral service for Doris T. Barfield Furniss, 93, will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Beulah United Methodist Church. The Rev. Richard Cameron will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Karesh Wing at KershawHealth . Mrs. Furniss, wife of the late John Furniss, died Sunday, June 24, 2012. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late George Ross and Mae Horton Truesdale. She retired as a beautician and worked at the Karesh Wing as a caregiver. Surviving are her sons, Fred E. Deaton (Jeanie) of New Hope, Ala. and William G. Deaton (Wanda) of Camden; sister, Beatrice Wise of Florence; grandchildren, Vanessa Deaton, Stacey Caulder (Jason), and Denise Harrelson (Charlie); and 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a husband, Whit Barfield; and sister, Velma Boy.
