Obituary of Nancy Baker Williams
CAMDEN – Funeral service for Nancy Baker Williams, 72, will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Oakridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Keith Coates will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Ms. Baker died Sunday, May 13, 2012. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Ward Eugene and Fannie Peach Baker. She retired from DuPont and enjoyed singing. She was known for her “Hats” and was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Surviving are her brother, Kenneth W. Baker (Joey) of Camden; sisters, Carol Pierce (Reggie) of Memphis, Tenn., Jo Ann Harris of Camden, Peggy Kinney of Seneca, S.C., and Ellen Atkinson (Don) of Lugoff; sister-in-law, Pat Baker of Lugoff; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, James Gregory Williams; and a brother, Leon Baker.
