Obituary of Jasper O Dinkins

LUGOFF - Funeral service for Jasper O. “Jack” Dinkins, 87, will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Dinkins-Powell Home Place. Rev. Dr. Mark Bredholt will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Dinkins died Wednesday, October 17, 2007. Born in Centerville, S.C., he was the son of the late Hollie L. and Burdette Parker Dinkins. He was actively involved with farming his entire life including tending to cows, working with tractors and keeping daily farm operations organized. He was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church. He enjoyed sitting outside under a shade tree reading the newspaper, chewing tobacco, listening to country music, and going to McDonald’s for apple pies. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Robert Powell of Lugoff; four grandchildren, Jessica R. Cooper, Robert O. Powell, Amy N. Powell, and Erin C. Powell, all of Lugoff; two great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Wilma D. and Rembert Keith of Lugoff; brother and sister-in-law, Hollie L. and, Joyce G. Dinkins of Camden. He was predeceased by a sister, Elouise D. Coker. The family extends great appreciation to Hospice of Tri County for their loving care.
