CASSATT – Funeral service for Vera Viola Stevens, 60, will be held Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Lugoff Church of God with burial to follow in Stevens-Ray Memorial Park, Cassatt. The Rev. Tim Shirley and the Rev. Jeff Grubbs will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Lugoff, Church of God. Mrs. Stevens, wife of the late John Robert Stevens, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Born in Camden, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Martha Viola Parker Ray. She was a member of Lakeshore Drive Church of God. She enjoyed going to auctions, raising farm animals, and crafts. Surviving are her son, Robert E. Stevens of Parsons, Kansas; daughter, Patricia “Sissy” Branham (Billy) of Cassatt; grandchildren; Anne-Marie Branham and Donna-Rae Branham; brothers, Claude Ray, Charles Ray, and Clennie Ray; and sisters, Mary Alice Osmer, Geneva Lyles, Louise Hall, Carolyn Morris, Jessie Ray Anderson, and Sarah Branham.
