PONTIAC – A memorial service for Susan J. Zilke, 68, will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lake Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dr. Ellen Skidmore will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the church parlor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forest Lake Presbyterian Church, Organ Fund, 6500 Trenholm Road, Columbia, S.C. 29206. Ms. Zilke died Sunday, April 29, 2012. Born in Washington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Raymond “Gus” and Margaret Lucille Bell Zilke. She retired from Trinity High School in Washington, PA where she taught for 33 years and served 4 years as principal. Ms. Zilke was an active member of Forest Lake Presbyterian Church in Columbia. She was also a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star and served as Past Matron of Evening Star Chapter #187 in Claysville, PA and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #0639 of PA for 38 years. She enjoyed playing golf, camping, traveling, and volunteering. She was the last of her immediate family but leaves a host of loving friends to cherish her memory.
