Obituary of Fred Clements
CAMDEN –Graveside service for Andrew Frederick Clements, 84, will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Quaker Cemetery. The Rev. Brent Kendall will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Camden or the church Benevolence Fund, 1201 Broad Street, Camden S.C. 29020.
Mr. Clements died Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Born in Lexington, Va., he was a son of the late James Corbett and Hallie Pearl Odgen Clements. He served in the United States Navy in WW II. He retired from DuPont in 1986 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Camden.
Mr. Clements was a member of the American Legion Post 17 and formerly served on the Voter Registration Commission. He enjoyed gardening, the Lake, racing, and following Braves Baseball.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Gloria Hindman Clements; daughters, Diane Robinson (Danny) of Camden, and Phyllis Clements of Columbia; son, Andy Clements (Dian) of Huntsville, Ala.; brothers, Donnie Clements and Ed Clements; sister, Evelyn Whiteside; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Bobby Clements; brothers, Leonard Clements and Francis Clements; and sisters, Pat Snyder, Mildred Clements, Sara Clark, Minnie Snyder, and Ruth Morgan.
