CASSATT – Funeral service for Rex. H. Kelly, 75, will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Beaverdam Baptist Church with burial to follow in church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Mr. Kelly died Tuesday, April 03, 2012. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, he was the son of the late Harry and Nelda Robertson Kelly. He served in the United States Army and Air Force and retired from DuPont. He was an avid sports fan who loved the USC Gamecocks. He enjoyed fishing, small engine repair, and NASCAR. Surviving are his wife, Betty R. Kelly; his children by a previous marriage, Debra Faulkenberry of Cassatt, Brenda Lee of Lugoff, Jenny Hall of Cassatt, Edward Kelly of Cassatt, Linda Pittman of Lugoff, Rex H. Kelly Jr. of Cassatt, Diane Boykin of Cassatt, and Jeanette Carron of Lugoff; step-children, Debbie Kelly and John Elliott; brother, Jack Huffman; sisters, Doreen Hanks and Sherri Fuller; 28 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a previous wife, Ada B. Stroud of Cassatt. He was predeceased by brothers, Blaine Evans, David Evans, and Pat Kelly; sister, Glenna Gamboni; and a grandson, David James Yap Kelly.
