Obituary of George Leroy Woods
ELGIN – Graveside service for George L. Woods, 77, will be held be held at a later date in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the DAV.
Mr. Woods died Saturday, March 10, 2012. Born in Beaverville, Ill., he was a son of the late Clarence Ethelbert and Goldie A. Duzenberry Woods. He retired from the United States Army having served in Korea and Vietnam. He was a Mason and a member of DAV. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and riding his motorcycle.
Surviving are his sons, George Woods, Michael Woods, and David Ray Moser; sister, Betty Whaley; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Wanda Turner, Jeanette Glessener, Sally West, Lucile Deno; and a brother, Jim Larson.
