CAMDEN – Funeral service for Chester Jones, 78, will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Baptist Church with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Keith Coates will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to DeKalb Baptist Church, 2034 DeKalb School Road, Camden, S.C. 29020. Mr. Jones died Sunday, March 18, 2012. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Walter P. and Lottie Ray Jones. He served in the United States Army and retired from DuPont. He enjoyed gardening. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Betty Joyce Hatchell Jones; sons, Frankie Todd Jones (Penny) of Camden, and Tony Randall Jones of Camden; brother, Johnny Jones; sisters, Martha Raley, Ola Williams, Sarah Hendrix, and Willie Mae Outten; grandchildren, Ashley Jones and Todd Jones; and great-grandchildren, Matthew Jones, Tayon Blocker, and Mya Jones.
