LUGOFF – Funeral service for Michael Ransom Jackson, 67, will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at North Columbia Church of God with burial to follow in Hardshell Cemetery. The Rev. Walter Parham and the Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to North Columbia Church of God, 1004 Lorick Road, Blythewood, S.C. 29016. Mr. Jackson died Thursday, August 01, 2013. Born in Lugoff, he was the son of the late Joshua Elliott and Martha Ann Branham Jackson. He served in the United States Army and retired from South Carolina Department of Revenue. He enjoyed walking, gardening, being outdoors and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Carolyn Jean Jones Jackson; son, Michael Joshua Jackson (Sophia) of Lugoff; daughter, Melissa Jackson-Miller (Kenneth) of Lugoff; brother, Phillip Jackson; sisters, Yvonne Brazell, Kathryn Blume, Sandra Williamson and Pam Bowen; grandchildren, Alyssa Miller, Mac Miller, Rebekah Miller, Madeline Miller, Hannah Burkett, Whitney Grainger and Hyatt Grainger; and great-grandchildren, Landon Burkett, Courtney Wilson, Kaydence Grainger and Sierra Grainger.
