LUGOFF- Funeral service for Elizabeth Peay Dinkins, 89, will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Rowan Presbyterian Church, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Longtown Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Rev. Phillip McCoy will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Rowan Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Dinkins, wife of the late John R. Dinkins, died March 6, 2012. Born in Longtown, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Robert Lamar Peay and the late Miriam Center Peay. She was a member of Rowan Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Surviving are son, John Dinkins and his wife, Annette of Elloree, S.C.; daughters, Miriam Brown and Sarah Nichols, both of Lugoff; grandchildren, Elizabeth Kelly and her husband Tommy, Laurie Slaughter and her husband, Jacob, and Scott Nichols; and great-grandchildren, Jarett Kelly, Carson Kelly, Zachary Slaughter, and Emma Grace Slaughter. She was predeceased by brothers, Lamar Peay, James Peay, Austin Peay and Van Peay; and a sister, Tallulah McMillian. The family would like to thank the staff of Springdale Health Center, Building 300, for their loving care that they continuously gave during her illness.
