ELGIN – A memorial service for Robert W. Weagly, 74, will be held Sunday, March 04,2012 at 6:00 p.m. at Harvest Baptist Church in Lugoff. The Rev. Bill Dulaney will officiate. Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Christian Services, 101 South White Street, Lancaster, S.C. 29720. Mr. Weagly died Friday, March 2, 2012. Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late Charles Albert and Louise Kingman Weagly. He retired from the United States Army Reserves after 27 years of service. He was a devout Christian and a member of Harvest Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Anna M. Weagly; daughters, Jeanie Weagly Howland (Phillip) West Jordan, Utah, Alice Smith (Ray) of Washington, D.C., Judy Ashley (Scott Strawbridge) of Oakland, Tenn., and Jackie Gray (Brian) of Lugoff; his twin sister, Helen Warren of Lancaster, S.C.; 12 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Rast; brothers, Charles Weagly; and sister, Nancy Finch.
