Obituary of Vaudearie Rodgers Melton Anderson
CASSATT – Funeral service for Vaudearie Rodgers Melton Anderson, 83, will be held Monday, March 5, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Beaverdam Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Steve Leigh and the Rev. Homer Hinson will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday 4-6 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Beaverdam Baptist Church.
Mrs. Anderson, wife of the late William S. Anderson, died March 2, 2012. Born in the Buffalo/Mt. Pisgah Community of Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Emory Singleton and Annie Mae Deese Rodgers. She retired from Kendall Company and was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.
Surviving are her sons, Daniel Eugene Melton (Brenda) of Elgin, William Stanley Melton (Janice) of Cassatt, and Steven W. Melton (Sharon) of Lugoff; brothers, Rabon Rodgers (Blondell) of Lexington, Aron Rodgers (Elaine) of Monroe, N.C., Bruce Rodgers (Margaret) of Cassatt, and Kent Rodgers (Vivian) of Cassatt; sisters, Christine Broughton of West Columbia, Joyce Estridge (F.C.) of Columbia, Joann Morrissett of St. Louis, Mo., and Coletta Woods (Warren) of West Columbia; and grandchildren, Steven “Kyle” Melton (Aimee) and Lesley Melton Rabon (Tony). She was predeceased by her first husband, Shannon Daniel Melton; and a sister, Frances Horton.
