Obituary of Timothy Allen Bodie

CAMDEN – Funeral service for Timothy Allen Bodie, 53, will be held Sunday, March 4 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Bruce Hancock and the Rev. Jackie Gibbs will officiate. A committal service will be held on Monday, March 5 at 1:00 p.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday 7-9 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Food For The Soul, P.O. Box 1591, Camden, S.C. 29020. Mr. Bodie passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, from complications following a successful bone marrow transplant. Born in Augusta, Ga., he was a son of John Allen Bodie and Sue High MonCrief. He retired from the United State Air Force and South Carolina Air National Guard after 30 years service. During his military service he served in Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Mr. Bodie was a devout Christian and a member of First Baptist Church of Camden. He enjoyed playing golf, sport shooting and being outdoors. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Jeanine Ann McHaffie McAneney Bodie; father, John Bodie and his wife, Wilma of N. Augusta; mother, Sue MonCrief and her husband, Eddie of Inman, S.C.; sons, Health Service Technician 3rd Class Blaine William Bodie, U.S. Coast Guard, stationed in Petaluma, Calif., and Garrett Evan Bodie graduate of Erskine College with a Major in Biology and a Minor in Spanish with intent to be commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force; and brother, Blaine Kevin Bodie of Welford, S.C.
