Obituary of Vivian Davis Hinson
CAMDEN – Vivian Davis Hinson, 77, wife of Shirley A. Hinson of 1917 Hilton Street, Camden, S.C., went to be with her dearest friend Jesus Saturday, February 25, 2012 from KershawHealth.
A native of Camden, Mrs. Hinson was the daughter of the late Benjamin Tillman Davis and Lula Belle Davis. She was a graduate of Camden High School and was formerly employed by Haile Street Grocery and Lunch and studied undergraduate nursing at ATEC in Camden.
Mrs. Hinson was a member of New Life Christian Outreach in Lugoff, S.C.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hinson is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Hopkins (Robert) of Bethune, S.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Stewart Hinson (Ginger) of West Columbia, S.C.; sisters, Betty Ray of Lugoff, S.C., Mary Morris of Camden, S.C., and Janice Mattox of Lugoff; grandchildren, Melissa Hopkins, Junior Hopkins (Shelly), Jamie Hopkins (Tawanna); great-grandchildren, Brittany Hopkins, Emma Hopkins, and Arryngton Hopkins; and her beloved pets, “PePe”, “Isaac”, and “Becky”.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hinson was predeceased by brother, Bennie Davis; and sisters, Esther Ray and Flossie Baker.
The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral home with burial to follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Cameron, the Rev. Jerry Howell and the Rev. Joe Stines will officiate.
