CAMDEN – Katherine Louise Bovard “Katie” Miller, 88, wife of the late Edwin A. Miller, died Sunday, February 19, 2012. Born in Dubois, Pa., on November 10, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Samuel R. and Louise Maylon Bovard. Mrs. Miller was a 1945 graduate of Penn State where she received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree and a 1949 graduate of Westminster Choir College with a Bachelor of Music. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church where she served as the organist until she retired. Mrs. Miller shared her gift of music while serving as organist in churches throughout the eastern United States. She also shared her gift through teaching piano, directing hand bell choirs, and accompanying choirs. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Ikey Pitts; grandson, Ike Pitts and his wife, Amber, and Michael Pitts and his girl friend, Madison Bates; and brother, Rev. William J. Bovard and his wife, Lorraine. She was predeceased by a brother, Dr. Robert E. Bovard and his wife, LaVern. The family will receive friends Sunday 3-5 p.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Her family would like to thank the loving “Angels” at the Karesh Wing and KershawHealth Hospice who loved her and took care of her.
