Obituary of Louis N. Wagner

CAMDEN - Louis Wagner died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at age 84 under hospice care. He was born in Freehold, New Jersey. Service to his country following World War II included, The Berlin Airlift, The Korean War and a tour in the Philippines. While in the Air Force he discovered his love for broadcasting the news to his fellow troops. Later, Mr. Wagner became a well-known Philadelphia TV News personality known as “Captain Lou”. In addition to working in the TV business for 13 years he also wrote for newspapers and magazines before he retired to South Carolina to enjoy his passion for aviation. Mr. Wagner also enjoyed life in the great outdoors, gardening, hunting, and fishing. Surviving are his son, Konrad Wagner, daughter-in-law Catherine; and two grandchildren, Caroline and Cameron. A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at the Kershaw County Airport at Woodward Field, 2203 Airline Drive, Camden, S.C. 29020.
