LUGOFF – Funeral service for Linda McCracken Browder, 65, will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Camden, with burial to follow in Red Bank Baptist Church Cemetery, Lexington. The Rev. Bruce Hancock will officiate. Memorials may be made to Preston Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke Medical University, 047 Baker Street, Trent Drive, Durham, N.C. 27710. Mrs. Browder, wife of the late Wayne G. Browder, died Saturday, February 4, 2012 at home surrounded by her children. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of Irma Weed Karst and the late George McCracken. She retired from Lugoff Elementary School and was a member of First Baptist Church of Camden. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are her mother Irma Karst (Al) of Irmo; son, Greg Browder (Dyonia) of Lugoff; daughter, Allison Browder Taylor (Charles) of Myrtle Beach; brother-in-law, Nick Hill of Columbia; grandchildren, Emersen, Charley, and Collin Taylor; and step-grandchildren, C.J. Webster and Joshua Webster. She was predeceased by a sister, Donnie Hill; and her companion, Charlie Williams.
