Obituary of Dorothy Mae Ray

KERSHAW-Funeral service for Dorothy Mae Ray, 67, will be held Monday, February 6, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. at House of Prayer with Open Arms Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Donnie Barrett will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the House of Prayer with Open Arms Church. Mrs. Ray, wife of the late Leonard Ray, died Saturday, February 04, 2012. Born in Cassatt, she was the daughter of the late Milton Phillip and Nannie Collins Tidwell. She was a member of House of Prayer with Open Arms church, and enjoyed fishing and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her sons, James Ronny Sheorn of Kershaw, Milton Ken Sheorn of Camden, and Buck “Buster” Sheorn (Debbra) of Camden; daughters, Dorothy Jane Cauthen of Kershaw, Laurie Ann Truesdale of Kershaw, and Emmera Jean Hopkins of Kershaw; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Tidwell (Dionne), John “Ben” Tidwell; and sisters, Rita Anderson (Steve), Evelyn Simon (Tommy), and Lynn Lyons. She was predeceased by former husbands, Bobby Pike, James Buck Sheorn; and daughter, Tammy Sheorn.
