Obituary of Eugene C. Sutton

STUARTS DRAFT – Funeral Service for Eugene Carroll Sutton, 76, formerly of Lugoff will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Mr. Sutton died Thursday, January 05, 2012. Born in Suttontown, N.C., he was the son of the late Allen and Eloise Brown Sutton. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from DuPont in Camden after 26 years. He was the former owner and operator of the Pecan Station in Lugoff. Mr. Sutton was a member of the Elks Lodge in Lugoff, S.C. and enjoyed gardening and fishing. Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Ann Rabon Sutton; children, Linda Hall (James) of Lugoff, Wanda Powers of Lugoff, Henry R. Powers (Rose) of Lugoff, Gina Sutton of Myrtle Beach, Marvi Deadmon (Sam) of Landis, N.C., and Bob Rabon (Valerie) of Lugoff; sister-in-law, Judy Tomey (Arnett) of Waynesboro, N.C.; brother, Shelby Sutton of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a wife, Jean Sutton; brothers, Allen Lee Sutton, Robert Sutton, and Jimmy Sutton.
