CASSATT – Funeral service for Clyburn W. Rodgers, 71, will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Beaverdam Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Steve Leigh will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to KershawHealth Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Mr. Rodgers, husband of the late Linda Gale Rodgers, died Monday, December 19, 2011. Born in Cassatt, he was a son of the late Manning C. and Linnie Hearon Rodgers. He retired from Kendall Co. He was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, camping and carpentry. Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela R. and Jeffrey Thompson of Camden, and Staci R. and Stephen Sims of Westville; brother, William “Bootsey” Rodgers (Vivian) of Cassatt; sisters, Shelby Watts (Joe) of Cassatt and Grace West of Kershaw; and grandchildren, Chase Thompson, Jacob Sims, Christopher Sims, Jonathan Sims, and Emma Sims. He was predeceased by brothers, James Manning Rodgers and Richard Wayne Rodgers. He was predeceased by a grandson, Forest Thompson.
