My husband, Doug, was minister of music at Cooper River Baptist Church in North Charleston, SC for 28 years. Jewell was a faithful member of the adult choir the whole time. She expressed her sorrow at having to leave us when she went to live in Hemingway with her sister for health reasons. She loved the people in her church, and we loved her. She had a sweet, quiet, and humble spirit. She also baby-sat our children when they were young. They loved her. We still have a music-note Christmas ornament on our tree that she gave us years ago. We are saddened to know she is gone, but look forward to seeing her again one day when we see the Lord!
