ELGIN – Funeral service for Andrea H. Brown, 81, will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Paul Miles and the Rev. George Cashwell will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church. Memorials may be made to Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church Adult Sunday School Class. Mr. Brown died Monday, November 21, 2011. Born in Blaney, he was the son of the late Howell A. and Mamie Jeffers Brown. He served in the United States Navy and retired from DuPont where he was the Paymaster. He was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was the former choir director. He was an avid Gamecock Fan. Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Peggy Stockman Brown; son, Phillip A. Brown; daughter, Shirrese Brown “Sherry” Brockington (Joseph) of Charleston; step-sons, James Moak and Dennis Moak; sister, Lee Goff of Elgin; granddaughter, Ashley Gordon Brockington; and 9 step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Wayne Brown and Delmar Brown.
