CAMDEN - Funeral service for Helen A. Nichols, 80, will be held Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with burial to follow in Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Atkerson will officate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 647 Lachicotte Rd., Lugoff, S.C. 29078. Mrs. Nichols, wife of the late Thomas Nichols, died Sunday, December 30, 2007. Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Roland Beaver and Ruth Deas Powers. She retired from Kendall after 20 years. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Surviving are her children, Joyce Earline (William) Holly of Camden, Bonnie D. (John E.) Elmore of Columbia, and Thomas A. (Pamela) Nichols of Lugoff; sisters, Joyce Leone and her husband, Anthony of Atlanta, Ga., and Shirley Villani of Los Vegas, Nev.; brother, George Beaver and his wife, Margaret of Lancaster; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
