Obituary of Clariece D. Taylor
CAMDEN – Funeral service for Clariece D. Taylor, 87, will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Wateree Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Bobby J. James Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Wateree Baptist Church Soup and Sandwich Ministry, 2024 Haile Street, Camden, S.C. 29020.
Mrs. Taylor, wife of the late Cecil L. Taylor, died Wednesday, November 16, 2011. Born in Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Rev. John T. and Eva Mae Ogburn Dabney. She was a member of Wateree Baptist Church where she was the church pianist for over 56 years. She loved ministering with the piano and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughters, Linda Taylor and Teresa Taylor, both of Camden; sons, Wesley Taylor of Camden, Robert Taylor (Laurie) of Columbia, and Philip Taylor (Rena) of Camden; brothers, Ogburn Dabney, Keith Dabney, Charles Dabney, Philip Dabney, Larry Dabney, and Wayne Dabney; sisters, Libby Gurley, Juliette (Totsie) Joye, and Gwen Mincey; grandchildren, Elizabeth Taylor Nam, Brandon Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Michaela Taylor, John Taylor, and Sarah Taylor; and great-grandchildren, Grace Nam and Calvin Nam. She was predeceased by brothers, J.T. Dabney, Edwin Dabney, Gene Dabney, and Judson Dabney.
