Obituary of Patrick A. Malone

LUGOFF – Funeral service for Patrick Amos Malone, 70, will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. A funeral service will also be held on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Clicks Funeral Home in Lenoir City, Tenn. with visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Etowah City Cemetery, Etowah, Tenn. Memorials may be made to DeKalb Baptist Church Food Pantry. Mr. Malone passed away on Saturday morning, November 12, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Pat was a member of Arlington Baptist Church, Knoxville, Tenn. He was a 1962 graduate of Hiwassee College and a 1964 graduate of the University of Tennessee. Pat was an avid Tennessee fan. He served in the United State Army during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he was a claims adjuster for Crawford and Company in Florence and Beaufort, S.C. and later for Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company in Greensboro, N.C. He was owner and operator of the Western Sizzlin Steak House, Lugoff, S.C. from 1992-2008. Pat was the son of the late Reed Amos and Nora Sue Williams Malone and was raised in McMinn and Knox Counties in Tennessee. Besides his parents, he was predeceased in death by his brother, Hoyle R. Malone; sister, Louise Malone Jackson; sister-in-law, Myrtle Raines Malone; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Glyn and Elizabeth Johnson. He is survived by a son, Joseph Patrick Malone of Lugoff, S.C.; the mother of his son, Nancy Johnson Malone Bowdoin; three nephews, Don, Tim, and Phil Jackson of Greenwood, Ind.; and several cousins.
