CAMDEN – Graveside service for Robert Calvin Ference, 84, will be held Thursday at 12:00 noon in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia. The Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter, 460 Fair Street, Camden, S.C. 29020. Mr. Ference died Friday, October 21, 2011. Born in Greece City, Pa., he was the son of the late George and Alice Hill Ference. He retired from the H.J. Heinz Company in Pittsburgh, Pa. He enjoyed NASCAR and refinishing furniture. Bob loved animals especially his dog “Luke” and all his cats. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth “Libby” M. Ference; sons, Dean Ference (Mary) and Paul Ference (Laura); daughters, Peggy Johnson and Jill Leasure (Dave Berkey); step-daughter, Kathy Johnson (Phil); brother, Earl Ference; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, George Ference; and sister, Betty Hannon.
